Ann Summers is arguably the best known and respected high street sex toy and lingerie retailer across the UK. In fact, some attribute today's culture of relaxed attitudes towards sex and sex toys partly to the chain of successful stores.
They have kindly sent over two of their ever popular Rampant Rabbit vibrators for me to test and I'm keen to see how these compare with offerings from other sex toy retailers. After all, Ann Summers is (in my mind) supposed to be a retailer of classy, well-built sex toys that have been built to last. Is this the case here? Let's find out.

The box is very enticing. I love bright pink so the fact that the box is two-tone white and bright pink bodes well for the rabbit! A clear window wraps around the left hand side of the box revealing the rabbit inside which looks to be a good size. The words "Rampant Rabbit The Wave" and "new revolutionary wave sensation" can be found printed on the front.

The rear of the box explains a bit about what makes this rabbit vibrator different thanks to it's wave action. I'll come onto that in a bit. The pink block at the bottom of the box wraps around the entire box and is a picture of a wave. Clever, eh?!
Inside, the rabbit is wrapped in a protective layer of plastic and is held between two plastic rims to stop it from moving. There's a silver cardboard backing and tucked behind this you will find the instructions for use.
Overall, clean and tidy packaging that looks fancy and non-offensive.
The first thing I noticed was my rabbit was fragranced. I'm not sure if all of them are but mine smells quite floral. It certainly makes a difference from the usual chemical smell you find with some vibrators and therefore gives a great first impression!
The rabbit looks like many others. It comes in baby (light) pink with a brighter shade of pink for the battery compartment at the base. It feels well constructed with a soft touch shaft and plastic battery box.
The shaft is rippled along its length which you can see as well as feel. The rabbit has nice long ears and a cute face on it too!
Insertable length is around 6 inches (approx 15cm) and the thickness is 1.5 inches (4cm) which looks like it will be deeply satisfying!
The battery compartment is at the base and takes 4 AA batteries. Simply unscrew the waterproofed cap at the base and a battery box pulls out. Pop in some new AA batteries and re-assemble. Whilst you are there you'll notice the Ann Summers logo printed on the base of the rabbit too.
I haven't tested a rabbit in a long while so it's a real pleasure to be testing this. When you put the batteries in the rabbit does feel a bit weighty so you'll probably want to lie down on a comfy bed to play. Alternatively, employ the services of your partner (enter Hubby) who can hold it for you leaving your hands free to caress your body or wave around in excitement!
There are two parts to this test: the shaft and the rabbit ears.
First task was to lube up. The instructions refer to "lubricants and oils" but neglects to say which are compatible with the Rampant Rabbit. Most sex toys prefer water-based lubes so that's what we chose to use. Hubby applied a generous amount the shaft (and tips of the ears) as well as a little to me though I think that was just his excuse for touching me!
If you aren't in the right mood or are not wet enough, fitting this bad boy in can take a bit of time. Its girth is highly satisfying and exactly what I like in a vibrator.
Once it was in, hubby proceeded to work through the shaft functions. He turned it on and from the start it felt amazing. The shaft ripples all the way up the shaft. It's quite difficult to explain as it is so clever but thankfully I've found a video about it online:
The ripples travel along the shaft and feel amazing. I could feel them ripple across my vaginal lips in a teasing and tantalising manor but then I could also feel them travel inside me. It's a slightly surreal feeling but immensely pleasurable.
There are three speeds of ripple and I'd recommend starting on the slowest and graduating up to the fastest as you are about the climax.
There's also a button to reverse the direction from rippling upwards along the shaft to rippling downwards. I preferred the upwards motion though it is nice to randomly change the direction from time-to-time to experience different sensations.
Like the shaft, there are three speeds from a slow wiggle to a fast manic shake of the ears! I love clitoral stimulation and find rabbit vibrators to be a fantastic way to experience vaginal vibrations together with the fun of clitoral stimulation. Most rabbit ears are relatively short but these particular ears are long yet firm which means more precise vibrations exactly where I want and need them.
The ears are awesome. Even at the slow speed they got me into a frenzy! At high speed I needed to be restrained as I was screaming and kicking about uncontrollably. I wanted to lie down and relax but the Rampant Rabbit Wave had different ideas for me!
The rabbit ears are perfectly positioned for me and the vibration intensities available are fantastic.
At slow speeds on both the ears and shaft, I reckon I could relax enough to let me climax build up gradually. At high speeds, I have no choice but to tense up and this leads to mind blowing orgasms throughout my entire body. It's a versatile vibrator that can relax and excite at the same time.
The rippling shaft together with the manic ears are sublime. I was looking to test whether an Ann Summers vibrator was worthwhile and found an amazing mind-blowing vibrator in the process! This is definitely now one of my favourite vibrators and will be used on a regular basis. The rippling shaft together with the teasing ears are an amazing and powerful combination.
I would suggest that you need to have experienced a rabbit vibrator before you jump onto using this, purely so you know how to get the most out of it and can understand the different feelings you get between this particular Rampant Rabbit vibe and a standard one. That said, Ann Summers also offer a Rampant Rabbit Slim Wave which is a smaller skinnier version of the one I tested which would be great for newbies!
If you're like me, once you've tried The Wave, you won't want to go back to a normal regular rabbit vibrator. They are truly worlds apart.
I love this rabbit. It adds a bit of spice not found in the humble traditional rabbit that continually rubs against your vagina as you you it. I love the feelings it offers and when combined with the rabbit ears drives me well and truly wild.
