Bodywise Liquid Silk Lubricant 250ml Review

Liquid Silk Lubricant is our favourite lube. It's never let us down, easy to clean off, gentle and doesn't dry out like some water based lubes. Our old bottle finally gave up the ghost and so we needed to buy a new bottle. I thought it would be quite aptto post a quick review.

The Sales Pitch

This is what they had to say about the product:

One of the best lubes for use with sex toys, Liquid Silk is a luxury, non-tacky water-based personal lubricant. Use with a partner (it's a great skin conditioner!) for intimate massage, foreplay or intercourse.
 
Once used, it will leave behind a greatly improved skin feel, tone and texture. Liquid Silk is luxurious, touch sensitive and designed to reduce the risk of breaking skin.
 
Liquid Silk is also formulated to be bio-static, stopping bacteria and yeast transmissions.

The Packaging

The bottle for the 250ml edition of this lube comes in the form of a dispenser bottle, more synonymous with liquid soap for the bathroom. That said, I personally prefer dispenserformat as it's generally easier, quicker and cleaner to "press and squirt" rather than flick open a cap and squeeze.

This particular size is just a tad too big for the bottom drawer though. There is a 50ml version available but it's better value to buy the bigger "vat" of lube.

The Product Itself

There's only so much that can be said about lubricant. It either does the job or doesn't. Needless to say, this does the job for us perfectly. It's a thick and gentle water based lubricant that lasts longer than the sexual pleasure. It's incredibly rare for us to need multiple applications (unless we've been stingy at the start).Once you've finished, it just wipes off easily.

It's silky smooth and doesn't go tacky. It does have a slight scent but it's not foul in any way. It's white in colour and one LoveHoney reviewer likened it to cum - although you probably wouldn't want this near you mouth .

What's more, this is produced in the Cowes, Isle of Wight so it's British born and bred.

Liquid Silk is ideal for masturbation, erotic massage foreplay and sex as well as being compatible with most sex toys. I wouldn't recommend it for anal sex although would probably recommend it's sister product Bodywise Maximus which is purposefully formulated fr anal penetration.

The bottle usually has a very long life on it. This bottle was purchased in December 2008 and expires in November 2013. As our last bottle aged, it started to turn yellow so we disposed of it in favour of a shiny new bottle. We obviously didn't need a lot!
