In all the time we have tested sex toys, we have never had a chance to review a Fun Factory product. Fun Factory is regarded as one of the leading designer sex toy brands and they currently have a range of innovative sex toys for men and women. Thanks to the lovely people at Lovehoney, I’ve got a Fun Factory YOOO to try out to see whether the brand lives up to all the good things I have heard.

The ground-breaking shape allows individuals and couples to experiment with a unique type of stimulation. Yooo is composed of three squeezably-soft balls. One holds the control panel and the other two each contain a high-powered motor that operates with three patterns and gradually-increasing intensities. The shape offers a unique type of stimulation, allowing for shallow penetration of the vagina and anus as well as massaging stimulation that will knead knots and soothe aches and pains. This shapely toy is 100% waterproof and perfect for taking into the shower, bath or hot tub with you.
The YOOO comes in a grey and red coloured cardboard box, which certainly wouldn't look out of place if the YOOO was given as a gift. It has a clear plastic window which has been moulded around the Yoo to hold it in place during transit.
The rear of the box features a quirky "I heart YOOO" image, whilst the side of the box explains the "YOOO principle". In a nutshell, the text explains how the futuristic design of this external vibrator allows users to experiment and play around with what feels good to them.
The bottom of the box has a map(!) of the YOOO, pinpointing all the functions and features.
The Fun Factory YOOO essentially comprises of three spheres, one with the controller and two with motors inside them.
I’ve got the Candy Rose and White colour which features a white control disc on the top sphere with the remaining part of the toy covered in a soft pink high quality grade silicone which is hypo-allergenic and easy to clean.
The clitoral stimulator features a rechargeable battery which is charged using the very clever magnetic Fun Magnetic Plug which is available separately but bundled with the Fun Factory YOOO by Lovehoney for free. The word "Fun" by the buttons is the point at which the Click 'n' Charge adapter clicks onto. It's a very clever charging point that I initially dismissed as just the Fun Factory logo.
The YOOO is completely waterproof which is just one of the benefits of using the rechargeable battery charger rather than disposable ones. As the YOOO is fully sealed it is submersible so perfect for fun in the bath or in the shower.
The first task was to charge the YOOO via the Click 'n' Charge charger. The charger simply snaps onto the "Fun" part of the Fun Factory logo in the middle of the buttons. It won't stick anywhere else so you can't really go wrong when it comes to charging!
On average it takes around 4 hours to fully charge the YOOO which uses an innovative new lithium polymer battery. This battery isn't like other batteries where it's important to completely discharge the battery before recharging. With the YOOO, you can charge as and when you like with no battery memory effects.
Once you connect the charger the Fun Factory logo on the charger glows red. The buttons on the YOOO repeated glow green to signify charging. Once completed, the red colour on the charger disappears.
On a full charge there's around 30 minutes of play time on the maximum speed settings, with a longer time achievable if you use the slower speeds. For some, 30 minutes just isn't long enough but for others that's fine. On the flip side, the YOOO has a standby period of an incredible 3 months so you might not need to charge before every use.
After charging, it was time to test drive the Fun Factory YOOO. The first noticeable aspect to comment on is the shape. It's an innovative design and is intended for clitoral, external vaginal, and erogenous zone massage. It doesn't have a form that other massagers have so it's pretty much left up to you how you want to use it.
The control sphere has just three buttons on it - a "+", a "-" and a "*". By pressing and holding the "+" button, the YOOO springs into life on the slowest vibration setting. By pressing the "+" button repeatedly you increase the speed of the vibrations. After a certain level it changes into a vibration pattern rather than a solid vibration. It does these at high speed though it would have been nice to have a separate pattern button so that patterns could be accessed at slow speeds as well as the fast speeds.
Pressing "-" brings the YOOO back down to the slower range and if you press it enough it turns itself off. If you need to quickly turn it off at high speed, simply press and hold the "-" button.
The "*" button accesses four different vibration patterns separate to the ones at high speed. These seem to fluctuate between the two motors so as one speeds up the other slows down, etc.These are also at high speed and there's no way to slow these down but they are perfect for adding some unpredictability and variety to masturbation.
Overall I found the YOOO very easy to control. I ended up using one of the bubbles to pleasure my clitoris and the other to rub over my vaginal lips. The Turbo mode ("*") was perfect for this as it added variety between the motors in each of the spheres. I would have liked more control of the speed in relation to the programs but perhaps that's an idea for the "YOOO 2"!
The vibrations are solid and strong and the feel of the toy is fantastic. It's weighty but not overly heavy and given that it's intended for external use, it would more than likely rest on your body anyway so the weight isn't necessarily an issue. The Fun Factory YOOO is a great designer toy and would make a great gift for yourself or your partner. It's non-offensive so can be happily used between couples and can be used on men as well as women.
