When it comes to cock rings, there's a huge choice out there. I have tried and tested a few of the value and mid-range rings but thanks to the folk at Simply Pleasuretoday I'm reviewing the Lelo Bo Blue, a designer cock ring. Designed by by Lelo of Sweden, the Bo looks very different to your average cock ring. So is it worth paying extra for, and what makes it different to other cock rings?

The Lelo Bo comes in a very sleek black gloss box. Lelo appear to have gone to some lengths to create an experience right from the moment you receive the package.
On the top of the box reads “Lelo Homme” which makes me think of a designer perfume or something similar.
The side of the box lists a few of the facts about the Lelo Bo which I'll cover shortly. The base, in gloss white, features a large picture of the Lelo Bo along with the package contents and contact information.
Inside the glossy sleeve is a matt black box, with the word Lelo printed on the top. Lift the lid off to reveal the Lelo Bo sitting in a carry case in a firm black plastic tray. Lift the plastic tray out to reveal a charger, a user manual, a warranty booklet and a quality guarantee booklet.
The Lelo Bo is a designer cock ring sex toy, as you may well have guessed from the packaging! It's been designed to look sleek, sophisticated and man-friendly.
The Lelo Bo is manufactured using phthalate-free ABS/TPE so it's body safe. It measures approximately 5.6cm tall, 4.5cm wide and 2cm deep at its widest points. It weighs a mere 25 grams so is incredibly light. Part of that is thanks to the small and innovative lithium-ion rechargeable battery. One charge of just 60 minutes provides up to 2.5 hours of usage, plus the battery can hold its charge for up to an incredible 3 months!
The Lelo Bo is available in deep blue (tested here) or Bordeaux red, and comes with a protective case.
Some cock rings have a reputation of being really tight and stuff, poor quality or have poor battery life. It's clearly apparent that Lelo have set out to banish all of these flaws with their creation of Bo.
Starting with feel, it's got a silk soft smooth finish and the ring itself is very stretchy. It's made from an ABS/TPE material but feels very similar to a stretchy silicone. The ring is fairly thin, with a raised border that runs all the way around the ring on the front and back.
The hole in the ring measures around 3cm in diameter but this stretches to around at least 6cm in width and height so will easily accommodate most penis shapes and sizes.
It’s a compact cock ring featuring innovative and very creative design. The on/off control is intuitive and the vibrator itself is quiet. Slide the battery pack on and Bo turns itself on. Slide the battery pack off and it stops vibrating. The vibrations are quiet but powerful.
Putting the cock ring on was easy. I chose to put the base on first then slide the lightweight battery unit on. As soon as I put the ring on it felt snug but comfortable. My penis became much firmer and engorged. I slid the battery pack on which activated the vibrations. These are very nice indeed and travelled along the length of my penis.
Lelo recommend to lube up your erect penis to slide Bo on which is a top tip. It can be worn around the penis either above the scrotum or below it.
When worn above the scrotum, Bo can touch your partner's clitoris during intercourse which can help her climax during intercourse. We tried this out and combined with the vibrations felt in my penis Mrs STS loved the sensation. We found it best if during foreplay I had oral sex with her to sensitise her clitoris as this led to easy multiple orgasms during sex. It's really satisfying being able to watch your partner orgasm during sex.
Wearing Bo around your penis and scrotum is a little more tricky to do, and is where the lube really comes in handy. This results in a more constricted feeling but I also felt the vibrations transmitted more to my testicles, which helped me orgasm quicker.
Bo is great during oral sex and masturbation too. Whilst it is best during intercourse as it leads to a stiffer penis, it can help reduce the amount of effort required by your partner during oral sex or during masturbation. The vibrations really help to increase the pleasure though it would have been great to have a multi-speed vibrator or one pre-programmed with several vibration speeds.
When all the fun is over charging the battery is simple. It takes one hour to charge the battery and during that time the power switch on the battery unit glows red. The compact carry case used to store Bo has a hole in the side to allow Bo to be charged within the case. When you connect the charger a red LED light appears from the battery pack to symbolise battery charging. When fully charged Bo emits a white light.
