LoveHoney Silencer Vibrator Review

I get to test all manor of vibrators, from large to small, from mainstream to very niche. I've not had the opportunity, however, to test a vibrator specifically designed to be quiet. Until now. Love Honey sent over their Silencer Vibrator for me to try out.

The Packaging

The Silencer comes in push close plastic packaging. The packaging is discreet yet bright and inviting. The front lists some product features including:

• Super quiet
• Multiple speeds
• Easy to use
• Skin safe

The rear of the packaging contains lots more text about the vibrator, including instructions on how to use it.

The Product Itself

The vibrator itself is made from a solid but smooth plastic. It comes in a hot pink colour with a black base. The shaft of the vibrator is ribbed so it's not just plain and boring.

It takes two C cell batteries which are quite chunky and a tad old-fashioned nowadays. To accommodate the batteries, this vibrator is quite chunky at around an inch and a half in diameter.

The Test

Having not read the packaging, I popped some batteries in and turned it on. To my amazement, it was so loud. It's louder than any other vibrator I have tested for sure. Slightly dismayed, I read the packaging.

I then discovered that to minimise the noise, you need to pop it on it's lowest speed. I did this and all that can be heard is a faint whisper of a vibration. The low noise / low speed doesn't mean lack of thrills though. Even at the lowest speed the vibrator wobbles around noticeably.

At low speed, this isn't silent but no vibrator will be. The reason being that the motor inside that creates the vibration needs to spin at high speed to create the vibration, hence the noise. However, at low speed, the noise from this is a whisper. I tried it underneath the duvet and couldn't hear it.

At high speed, this particular model makes a loud rattle from within the shaft. This could be a trait throughout every model or it could just be this particular vibrator. Whilst distracting, the power of the vibe outweighs the noise in my opinion.

The vibrations from this vibe are strong and very powerful. They are very pleasant and enjoyable. The girth is satisfying too.

At low speed, this vibrator is perfect for those looking to have a sneaky session without sacrificing power and sensations for lack of noise. At high speed, this has to be one of the most powerful vibes I've used. Okay so at high speed it's slightly noisy but I was coming fast and furiously with this toy. Holding it against my clitoris made me orgasm within a matter of seconds even at low speed. But slide it into your vagina and ramp up the speed for mind blowing pleasure. The ribbed shaft, the girth and the very powerful vibrations are amazing.

Summary

Who Is It For?

As it's main aim is noise (or more specifically a lack of it), the Silencer would suit women looking to use a vibrator quietly. Perhaps you live with your parents or have children or guests staying over and don't want to miss out on your sexual thrills. If so, this vibrator is aimed at you.

The Positives

The Negatives

• Very loud at high speed
• Uses chunky C cell batteries

Is It Worth Buying?

I am not so sure. On the one hand, at low speeds it is very quiet. On the other hand, whack up the speed on my test model and you won't be able to hear yourself scream. It could just be that this test model has a slight manufacturing defect which makes it so loud at high speed so it would be wrong to disregard this vibrator on this basis.

Personally, I loved the girth and the power of the vibrator and would recommend it as a powerful, all-round vibe. As a silent vibe, I would probably look at paying a little more for say the Silent Night Quiet Vibrator which is claimed to be much quieter than this model.
