Risky or Frisky Board Game Review

We were approached to review something we haven't really delved into on this blog - sexy board games. Some games are designed to help with foreplay whilst others are designed to just have some sexy fun. Risky or Frisky is a strategy board game loosely based on a popular property trading board game, only way more "grown up" as it is based around the adult sex industry. But is it any good? We sat down on a quiet Sunday afternoon and played a game.

Risky or Frisky Board Game

This is what they had to say about the product:

Risky or Frisky is a board game of strategy & luck, to be played by couples, friends & very good friends! For everyone who enjoys intimate & sexy games this is the chance to lose those inhibitions & have some fun! Each throw of the dice will move you around the board & by using Naughty Notes you will purchase businesses & aim to make the most profit within the adult industry. Beware of the Risky or Frisky cards, these can help or hinder your progress, the cards will try to relieve you of your money, clothes & inhibitions & even tempt you with more riches by having you perform sexy challenges. Players will admire your business accruement & you will find all the sexy tasks & cheeky questions lots of fun, you might even consider a change of career after you have played Risky or Frisky!

The Packaging

Risky or Frisky Board Game - Box Front

The game comes in a black box, with the "Risky or Frisky?" logo on the front in blue and pink. The strap-line "A board game to be enjoyed with your friends, very good friends" sits beneath it.

Risky or Frisky Board Game - Box Rear

The rear of the box features a snippet of the board along with a very staged looking, and perhaps unnecessary, photo of a man and woman. A list of box contents sits beneath a summary of the rules of the game.

The Product

Risky or Frisky Board Game - Box Contents

The Risky or Frisky board game comes with everything you need to get started:

The game can be played with between 2 and 8 people so it’s perfect for playing as a couple of with close friends! The games has been rated 18 and is for adults only.

The aim of the game is to make as much money in the adult industry as possible.

Opening the box you first find the game rules. I’ll come onto those in a minute.

Next is the board. It’s a black gloss board with a familiar track that runs around the edge. The spaces are made up of adult industry trades as well as a range of fines and Question or Risky and Frisky card spaces. The middle of each side has a prestigious film studio up for grabs.

In the four corners you’ve got Start, a dungeon with room for submissive players and room for peepers too, a Trade Show and a Go to the dungeon square.

The remaining contents of the box are held in a black plastic tray. Firstly are the eight rather cute and fun looking playing pieces shaped as rabbit vibrators or as cock rings. The dice sit next to them with the business cards beneath those.

The business cards have the name of the business on the front with details of how much the fees are on the reverse, for when other players land on your squares and owe you money. Each business type is grouped by colour and as a rule of thumb if you own two companies then the fee payable is doubled or if three are owned then the rate is five times as much.

Next are the Naughty Notes of which there are loads! They come in various denominations (50, 100, 200, 500, 1,000 and 5,000) and are issued by the Naughty Bank!

To the left sits the Question cards. These simply have one question and one answer on the reverse and cover a wide range of topics. Finally, the Risky or Frisky cards sit alongside. These contain game rewards and forfeits as well as a series of fun and sexy challenges.

The Review

Summary of the Rules

As a married couple we fulfilled the requirements to play the game! We each decide on a playing piece (I went for the silver cock ring whilst the wife opted for the purple rabbit). We then set about reading the rules.

Risky or Frisky Board Game - Playing Pieces

They are simple to follow and understand. Here’s a summary.

Each player starts with 30,000 Naughty notes. Each player takes it in turns to roll the dice and move clockwise around the board. Nothing can be bought in the first round but can thereafter. Rolling a double leads to another turn but rolling three doubles in a row means a trip to the Dungeon.

Each time you pass Start you collect 250 Naughty notes. After the first time around you can buy businesses you land on if they are available. If they are owned by another player then you need to pay a fee as dictated on the ownership cards.

If you land on a fine square then you must pay the applicable fee. If you end up in the Dungeon then you have three attempts to roll a double. If you succeed you get out but if you fail you must pay 1,000 Naughty Notes for the privilege. Whilst in the Dungeon you are a little tied up and as such you cannot make money from your businesses.

If you land on a Question Card square then another player must ask you the Question on the next available card. Get it right and you get another turn. If you get it wrong you can accept the punishment (choose this before the game starts – perhaps miss a turn, pay a fine or as suggested in the rules, lose a piece of clothing).

Question Cards

Land on a Risky or Frisky Card square then your card will contain a task. Some of the cards are good and some are bad. They contain a wide range of scenarios so you could find yourself in a sexy scenario or you could find your adult businesses slapped with a fine!

Risky or Frisky Cards

The person who has the most money at the end wins. If you run out of money you can sell your businesses to raise some cash in a last ditched effort to become the champion!

Gameplay Review

So how did we get on?

Risky or Frisky Game Play

Risky or Frisky has a familiar feel to it as it loosely resembles a well-known property trading board game only a lot more “grown up”. I love the playing pieces which certainly look right for the game.

The board is well laid out with a range of adult industries to choose from. The pictures used to resemble the industries are on the whole relevant and appropriate. They reflect the playful charm of this board game.

It certainly differs to other adult orientated board games we’ve played mainly as this is very playable. It’s not smutty or offensive, nor overtly sexual. In fact it’s very tastefully put together and can actually be very educational.

For example, we were slightly concerned that there is a term for the “sexual arousal from teddy bears”. We were intrigued by the world records for the amount of orgasms in an hour by both men and women. I was surprised by the speed at which an average man ejaculates at though Mrs STS could understand from first-hand experience! The Question cards are varied and cover a wide range of topics from film and culture to sexual positions and acronyms. For those of a more sensitive nature then it’s easy to skip questions if it is a little too explicit for your personality but the great thing about this game is it’s not a problem. It lends itself very well to all tastes and confidence levels.

The Risky or Frisky cards are also varied. The Risky cards generally refer to the businesses on the board, be it collecting or spending cash on all sorts of expenses. The Frisky cards generally ask you to do something saucy with the other players.

Again, it’s up to you how far you go. You could find that playing this leads to sex or you could find yourselves just having a good laugh. It’s up to you and the game is flexible enough to allow that. Other games can be regimented and intent on smutty antics whilst this game can be as flexible as you want it to be, suiting all sorts of personalities.

It really is a fun game and is great for spending time together with your partner in a fun environment. It’s sexy, saucy, exciting and educational. There’s also the element of competition to find out who can become the adult industry tycoon which has to be the best prize of all, surely?!
