Scentessa Ball Review

We were asked a short while ago to try out a new innovative product from Scentessa known as "the Ball". It has been dubbed the world's most exclusive love toy so with that kind of label, how could we resist?!

Scentessa Ball

The Ball In Action

The best way to understand how the Ball works is to watch a short video of it in action:

In a nutshell, the Ball is a massager. But what can it do and is it any good? Read on to find out!

The Packaging

The Ball Box - Closed

The Ball is beautifully packaged in a tall dark black box. The top of the box has the line "the world's most exclusive love toy" printed on it whilst the front has the tongue-in-cheek line "will you come to the Ball". Around the base of the box you'll find a list of words that describe the Ball:

The Ball Box - Open

The box is split in half around a third of the way up. The lid tilts back revealing the Ball. It's encased in dark protective foam and supplied with a USB charging cable and a small piece of card reminding you to:

The Product Itself

Scentessa - The Ball

The Ball is a heavyweight porcelain ball in black weighing it at just under 1kg. It's a non-penetrative love toy.

On the top of the Ball you'll find the on/off switch and to the base of the Ball you'll find a cover which when pulled out reveals a hole for charging.

The Test

This is one of the more unusual products we've tested here at Sex Toy Sofa. We haven't really delved into the world of foreplay as we haven't come across many products that offer this kind of thing.

Nevertheless, we put the product through it's paces as we would any other toy.

We first had to charge the Ball for 24 hours - quite a lot for such a small toy. Nevertheless, we did. Another issue we encountered was that the Ball is supplied with a USB lead rather than a power adapter. The problem with this is that you need to run a computer to charge the Ball, which is a waste of electricity just to charge a sex toy (of all things!). There is a solution and it comes in the form of a USB to UK Plug adapter which you can pick up for a couple of pounds at eBay. This means you can then plug the USB lead from the Ball into the adapter which then goes into a standard UK plug socket to charge.

The Ball is supposed to offer two speeds. According to the website you can switch between modes but we couldn't work out how to do that. The first is a gentle relaxing vibration (a low 1600rpm) designed for unwinding and chilling out. At this speed the Ball should feel nice all over your body, producing a gentle purr of a vibration so it's perhaps suited to the beginning of a foreplay session or it's ideal for using after a long and energetic round of love making.

The other speed is a more meaty 7,000 rpm (I think this is the mode we found) which is certainly much more intense. At this speed it was quite nice on some areas (quite a nice tickly feeling on my bum!) but it was too intense for other areas (namely my chest and my back). Mr STS enjoyed this more than the first setting so perhaps this is just a gender thing.

Whilst the Ball is non-penetrative, it feels exquisite rolled around my genitalia. It's quite a cold product thanks to the porcelain so this combined with the vibrations felt very nice indeed. As you'd expect from a couple's toy, the Ball can also be used along the shaft of the penis.

Summary

Who Is It For?

I think to get the best from this product you'd certainly want a partner to use it with you. It's designed more-or-less as a foreplay toy so you would probably get more aroused if someone else is seductively rolling it over your body.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is a product exclusively for women - it can also be used on men and the fact that it doesn't look like a sex toy means that it won't intimidate them.

The Positives

The Negatives

Is It Worth Buying?

If foreplay is a big must for you, you'd enjoy using this product. If you love a massage or you find yourself needing to unwind before making love then you'll really love the Ball.
