In our latest batch of goodies from the very kind folks at Sexshop 365, I'm reviewing the TongueJoy Romance Special Edition, a tiny vibrator for use during oral sex. The TongueJoy products have a legendary reputation, proving to be a constant bestseller. Most people will have heard of the Jessica Rabbit vibrator, the Hitachi Magic Wand and the TongueJoy - it's in that kind of league with that kind of reputation.
So does the TongueJoy work and is the Romance Special Edition worth paying extra for?

This is what they had to say about the product:
The mighty TongueJoy is one of the best known and most innovative couple's toys on the market. The tiny little marvel operates using two watch batteries in wireless mode and you can attach it to your tongue, finger, penis, toe, favourite sex toy etc etc for serious clitoral stimulation.
Anyone can use it, and everyone is talking about the TongueJoy experience. A romantic any time surprise for you and your lover or a perfect gift for birthday, anniversary or bachelor/bachelorette party.

Our set was delivered in a plain white cardboard box, which inside contained the TongueJoy box. It's a cardboard tray that is protected by a cardboard sleeve.
It's a relatively nondescript box perfect for giving as a gift thanks to the non-cringe-worthy design. The front simply shows the TongueJoy name whilst the rear of the packaging describes what's included in this gift box.

The TongueJoy is a tiny vibrator designed to sit safely on your tongue for use during oral sex. The TongueJoy Romance Special Edition comes with a few more bits and bobs than the regular edition. Inside the box you'll find the TongueJoy vibrator is housed in a red satin jewel box keeping it clean, nice and safe. Inside the case is white with silver lettering spelling out TongueJoy on the lid.
Also supplied are three assorted elastic silicone bands of varying diameters. This means you can find a band to fit your tongue or even a finger.
Four different textured coloured sleeves are supplied which slip over the TongueJoy to help create different sensations.
A battery box is supplied (powered by AA batteries which are also supplied) that can power the TongueJoy instead of the tiny watch batteries. The battery box is more restrictive than the watch battery powered option but the plus side is that it can offer double the power and a variable speed option, so you can spice things up a little more!
A custom Surgical Stainless Steel Barbell is enclosed so if you have a pierced tongue you can use this instead of the silicone bands to hold the TongueJoy against your tongue.
Finally, a comprehensive 56 page guide entitled "Put the Play Back in Foreplay" is contained in the box. This illustrated guide gives you suggestions on how to use the TongueJoy in other scenarios besides oral sex to excite and tantalise.
Here's a video from SexShop 365 explaining all about the TongueJoy Romance Special Edition:

Unfortunately the test didn't get off to a flying start. I don't have a pierced tongue so was reliant upon the elastic silicone bands. They are easy enough to connect to the TongueJoy but the tricky bit is getting them over your tongue. After reading several reviews of the Original TongueJoy and TongueJoy Romance Special Edition it appears that there's a bit of a learning curve with this toy, primarily on getting it to stay put.
It's way easier for those with pierced tongues as the supplied barbell attaches to the TongueJoy through the piercing holding the micro vibrator to your tongue.
It did give me time to peruse the supplied guide book to see how else the vibrator can be used. After all, it's very easy to see the primary function but it also can be used in other ways.
The booklet, by Linda Jefferson and Allan Bonnell, explains how you can use the TongueJoy as a sensual massager, teasing your partner. There's tips for men, women and for both sexes to help get you both in the mood.
So what about the accessories? The sleeves are small and thin, so are easy to get on and off the TongueJoy. Four are included:
The tiny batteries built into the TongueJoy are very small indeed and whilst convenient, they aren't all that good. The vibrations are much stronger when you use the supplied battery pack although the sacrifice here is that you need to have a wire hanging out of your mouth during oral sex.
The supplied battery box has the ability to vary the speed of the TongueJoy whereas the built-in batteries enable just one speed.
With a bit of time and patience those with non-pierced tongues will find the knack to getting the vibrator and and staying put. Those with pierced tongues would find it infinitely easier. Nevertheless, the vibrator itself is good, although better with the supplied battery pack. It's perfect for cunnilingus or fellatio as it adds a different dimension to oral sex.
The guide book is very handy too, with plenty of hints and tips on how to use the TongueJoy for other uses rather than the obvious one. It's a good quality guide that is actually worth reading.
This is a romantic gift aimed at couples who love oral sex. Just add one person who loves giving oral sex and another who loves receiving it!
It's best suited for someone who has a pierced tongue, although it can be used (most likely with some trial and error) by someone without a pierced tongue. For those with un-pierced tongues, allow a bit of patience in getting used to using the TongueJoy. It's a very novel sex toy that is perfect for all kinds of oral sex, turning your tongue into a vibrator.
I was a little disappointed I couldn't get the vibrator to stay put. It took several attempts with a variety of different bands but once I found one that worked, moving my tongue helped it slip off. Thankfully the supplied booklet of usage tips helped to get some usage from the toy and perhaps more attempts would see a better outcome.
Without a shadow of a doubt, if you have a pierced tongue then this will work wonders for you!
In a nutshell, it's a great gift to get irrespective of whether you have a pierced tongue, it just may take a while to get the knack of it if you don't have a pierced tongue.
