One of the very first sex toy reviews we ever wrote was for the original We-Vibe, back then an innovative couples sex toy that changed the way we thought about sex toys for couples. The premise was simple - a sex toy for couples that could be used during sexual intercourse that pleasure the clitoris and G-spot simultaneous that pleasured his shaft, and that was small and discreet enough to be used during sex without embarrassment or discomfort.
Since then various toys have been released that look fairly similar so We-Vibe have upped the ante with the We-Vibe II and now the We-Vibe 3. Having only recently been released to the UK market we were chuffed to bits when Sex Toys whisked one over to us for testing. We had to see whether it was much different from the original and whether it was any better.

You may remember our reviews about the We-Vibe. The We-Vibe is a sex toy designed for use between couples during sexual intercourse. It's a C shape and slides into the vagina, cupping the G-Spot area inside and the clitoris outside. The vibrations are strong and were great for a G-Spot orgasm and a clitoral orgasm for the woman whilst the man feels the vibrations along the shaft of his penis as he slides in and out. Amazon now stock the range of intimate massagers released by Philips, one of the biggest names in consumer electronics.
Given the current state of the economy and the success that Durex has with it's Durex Play range, it makes sense for the giant to explore this area.
Three versions of the massagers are available with the range aimed towards couples aged 35 to 55. These massagers are designed for use by couples and are a great way to have a romantic night in or to help rekindle some of the romance and passion that can disappear over time.
The massagers all have been designed to be ergonomic, stylish and non-offensive or non-threatening to both partners (it's not designed to 'replace' a partner, just enhance love making, passion and romance). They are designed to look stylish and sexy rather than to look like a typical sex toy or sex aid.
Let's take a look at the three product packages.
The massager comes in a well presented gift box, in keeping with the sophistication of the Philips brand.
The massager has been designed for foreplay. Philips understands that the libido of everyone differs from one another and that both partner's in a relationship don't necessarily want sex and the same time. Perhaps one feels frisky whilst the other feels stressed and tense.
The intimate massagers can be used all over the body so you could use it as part of a back massage or you could use it to arouse more intimate parts of the anatomy.
The massager comes with a 'bowl' looking base unit which acts as a recharger. You can also use the base to warm to massager up.
The massager has been designed to incorporate three quiet vibrating motors located in the tip, the top and the bottom. Five vibration modes are pre-programmed and the intensity of each can be varied.
The main selling point of the Philips Warm Intimate Massager has to be the appearance. At no point does it scream "I'm a sex toy" or "I'm just for women". This is a toy with which has been carefully designed for use by both partners without embarrassment or intimidation. The plus side is that it could be used as a standard massager outside of the bedroom as it's discreet shape allows it to be used as a neck and shoulder massager.
The Philips Warm Intimate Massager is watertight and water or silicone based lubricant friendly so you can use all sorts of lubricants with this as well as use it in the shower or bath.
