A Guide to the Many Types of Vibrators

Mrs Sex Toy Sofa, Thursday 27th January 2011

The lovely people at Simply Pleasure have helped put together this handy beginners guide on the different types of vibrator available. There's a wide range of choice and sometimes it takes a few tries to see whether you like one toy or another.

Many people, singles and couples, would like to take their bedroom activities up a notch and are interested in using sex toys. But with such a huge range out there how do you decide where to start?

One of the most common sex toys out there, and one that many people swear by, is the vibrator. A vibrator is an electronic device that produces vibrations to stimulate the nerves and tissues. These come in a huge range of shapes and sizes including the bullet, pocket vibrator, vibrating ring, external vibrator, smoothie, twice as nice, G spot and anal.

Many men have the preconception that vibrators are only used by single women, but this just isn’t true. In fact, married women are twice as likely to use a vibrator as single women. And this isn’t just frustrated wives getting their sexual kicks alone, 37% of women have used a vibrater during sex and 41% during foreplay. Many couples like to use toys to spice up their sex life. There are many sex toys that give pleasure to both men and women, for example a cock ring. Vibrators can be used during foreplay to stimulate sensitive nerve endings all over the body.

When introducing a vibrator into a relationship or trying one out for your own pleasure there are a few considerations for getting started. Rather than rushing blindly in and buying a complicated or huge vibrator, consider going for small and simple. Why not try some clitoral stimulation with a Bullet or Smoothie? These are small and discrete and can very easily be introduced into your normal routine. Smaller vibrators are great to help to remove any anxiety your male partner may have about being replaced by a sex toy and the age old debate of whether size matters.

If you are worried about introducing a vibrator into your relationship then take the time to talk to your partner and communicate why you are interested in using one. You can always give or request a sex toy gift for an extra special occasion such as Valentines Day or a birthday.

Some people will be turned off by seedy looking plastic sex toys with porno sounding names and cheap packaging. The sex industry has realised that sex toys are for everyone and that people want well-designed, beautiful and safe sex toys. There are now a huge range of vibrators available from high street stores and reputable online sites. Buying your first vibrator has never been so enjoyable!

Designer Lelo Rechargeable Vibrators

Mrs Sex Toy Sofa, Wednesday 13th August 2008

The phrase "reduce, reuse and recycle" has been used in Britain for some time now. If we act collectively and reduce the amount of waste we produce, we can help reduce the effects of global warming.

So what has this got to do with vibrators? Batteries of course!

Most vibrators use disposable batteries. You could use rechargeable batteries where available (AA, AAA C, D and 9V) to help reduce the amount of dead battery cells disposed of. Better yet, you could eliminate the need for batteries by using a rechargeable vibrator!

Viva Vibrators have a small range of Lelo designer vibrators, all of which are rechargeable so I decided to take a closer look at them.

Lelo Liv Luxury Rechargeable Vibrator

Lelo Liv Luxury Rechargeable Vibrator

A hot pink (cerise) vibrator designed to make you feel hot and very sexy!

Viva Vibrators suggest that this can be used by couples and whilst that is true, it is more suited for women. As it looks like a vibrator, some men may be unwilling to have this used to massage them. Nevertheless, it can be used to excite and tantalise the clitoris, vagina, nipples or penis.

It's a fantastic looking designer sex toy (I love the pink) and is made from medical grade silicone (the shaft) and durable plastic (the handle grip). This results in an easy to clean vibrator with a nice soft feel shaft.

5 pre-programmed vibration settings with a single motor mean that you can experiment and play with what feels good and what feels great!

All the Lelo vibes listed have a battery life of around 1.5 hours after 1 hour of charge which is plenty of time to get have a really good time. All the Lelo's displayed have a lockable control dial which means you can put this in your travel bag without the worry of it accidentally vibrating. Finally, all Lelo designer vibrators listed come with a discreet gift box, stylish satin carry pouch, manual and charger together with a 1 year Lelo warranty.
